I have many friends among your age group, and they do not give me hope. And I have spent my life laboring in the Church, and it does not give me hope, either.

Some of the teenagers I know want better. Whether they will be able to fix it when they get it in their hands, I don't know.

You know, I don't like pumpkin pie, but pumpkin breads seem to go over well with me? I tried making a gluten-free one though and it was dense as a brick. Gluten-free flour mixes tend to be more proteiny/heavy than normal flour. :,

Gingerbread is a good idea. I never had it in cookie form growing up. It was always bread.

I think a lot of the people I know who created this situation have their hearts in the right places. And in theory, I agree with them: it would be nice to have Lots of Things. But even my five-year-old knows that you can't have everything because we don't have unlimited money. :,

I'm just trying to focus on the positives of actually getting a job with a company that really wants me, and that is also expanding.

Of course the fact that despite it being a multimillion dollar company it still has less than 200 employees doesn't hurt my impression of it either.

I did not vote for Obama, and I already commented on wombat_socho's LJ about the preponderance of sore winners.

I do hope the Republicans get their act together in finding candidates people might actually be excited to elect.

I have noticed a lot of that on my FB today, hence my shutting it out after the first look this morning. The other thing I've noticed is a lot of folks (essentially) saying, 'I didn't vote for either side, and that makes me better than all of you who voted, because neither side is really different'. That kind of attitude makes me want to throttle them.

At least in happier news I am lined up to finish the paperwork for a good job at a company that is expanding despite the less than ideal economy.

One of those days you just have to take solace where you can.
