Went to the farmer's market Saturday, picked up some parsnips. (They smelled tasty.) Cooked them in a soup with carrots and onions and blended it like you would butternut squash soup. Pretty tasty. Sweeter mix than the carrot and radish soup, more like carrots and sweet carrots.
I found out that the local CSA does a winter vegetable pickup full of things like root veggies and collard greens and cabbages and such. Debating signing up for one of the remaining slots. Only problem would be that I'd be committing myself to cooking every weekend, probably several dishes.
In other news, the cub can now climb up into his high chair by himself.
