I was expecting to go in to work today, but
anher woke up with a fever, and his brain fog is bad enough that we really needed a more aware adult home to take care of the werecub. The cub and I are also coming down with whatever he has, but we seem to be two days behind on symptoms. Neither of us have fevers, but we're coughing and more tired than usual. I suspect
anher picked it up at school and passed it along to the rest of us.
Tomorrow is the cub's 6 month checkup, and I'm a bit worried. Since
anher has a fever and the cub seems to be headed the same way, the doctor may want to hold off vaccines for a week or two, which means we might need to schedule another appointment for him around New Year's. We'll see. Maybe the cub will get off light; breastfed babies often do, I'm told, since mom's immune system is helping out.
I enjoy being home with them, but there's also a LOT to be done at work that I won't be able to do today. It makes me wish we lived closer to relatives all the more. If we could have called for a grandparent or someone to come help with the baby, it would have made things easier. I probably wouldn't have had to take a sick day.
At least I can pamper my hubby a bit to help him feel better. Mint tea will do wonders. Right now, the cub is taking his morning nap and
anher is lying in bed with a laptop. I might join them in napping here soon. The more I can do to stave off getting really sick, the better.
