Sorry it's been a while since the last post. I've been feeling overwhelmed with work and baby and housework. Par for the time of year. Though the vitamin D seems to be working and keeping me from becoming Miss Grumpy No-Fun. I think the stress is just that it's end-of-year, which is the busiest time of year for my department at work.

Added to this is that I have had inspiration for a story to write, but no time in which to actually sit down and write without neglecting something else that is also very important. My days are overflowing with Things that Must be Done.

The werecub is fussy this afternoon. The morning was fine, and then he started fussing and crying and neither of us could figure out why. I was trying to cook some butternut squash soup (a new thing to try, never had it before), and had to take several breaks to come help soothe the baby. After the third time we finally got him calm, I happened to look at his face in a beam of sunlight, and he has a tiny bruise on his upper lip. We're mystified how it got there, beyond the normal baby tendency to shove things in the mouth. But maybe it's sore and that's why he's fussy..?

Soup is simmering away and takes very little work now that the squash is cut up, so at least I can spare the time to help with the werecub.

I am somewhat grumpy about the fact that as soon as Halloween was over, the Christmas stuff went up everywhere. What happened to Thanksgiving? I was sure there was another holiday in here.

Concerning the Christmas decorations: around here, they went up a day or so before Halloween.

You and the werecub take care!

Heh, be thankful you don't live up here then. Most of the Christmas decorations that were up around town when I first got here over 2 years ago are still up, and have probably been that way since before Y2K. XD

Hope the cub gets to feeling better soon. Take care, you lot. :]

I love Christmas. I would happily sing Christmas carols all year 'round. BUT, I resent the fact that all the stores basically skipped over Thanksgiving. There's an order to the fall, and they broke it. I don't need them skipping ahead to feel like my days are rushed right now.

After all the stuff up for Halloween, I feel out of sequence now.

An unfortunate result of our present culture, I suppose. Like pretty much every other holiday, all the meaning's been stripped out of Thanksgiving, leaving it reduced pretty much to "excuse to spend the day home from work pigging out and watching football," the same description Sunday seems to get anymore. :[

But yeah, I'd definitely go for year-round Christmas as well, even if it only meant pretty lights all the time and not having to remember which holiday was coming up next.

There is another holiday. It's called Black Friday.

That's a holiday? I thought that was just the time of year when the American consumer mindset was automatically switched to "Self-Destruct."
