Mom and baby news

Well, the werecub has been eating less lately. A lot less from the bottle; it's harder to tell when I'm the one feeding him.
Some of that was expected. The 3 month growth spurt is over and he doesn't need as much fuel. But it's a bit more than I thought it would be. I suspect he's eating as much as he needs; he poops and wets regularly and is a happy, smiley baby most of the time. Still, we plan to check over the nipples on the bottles since they start to wear out after about 3 months. They might need to be replaced.
He's drooling a bit these days and I heard him clicking his gums together while snoozing a little bit ago, so he could also be in the very early stages of teething. I don't feel any bumps when I run my finger over his gums, but online sources tell me some babies start teething a month or more before the tooth actually shows up. Could be. Maybe not. He has been making more chewing motions lately, too. Gotta get ready for that solid food when it's time.
His latest thing is that, when propped in a semi-reclining position, he tries to sit up the rest of the way. It looks like he's doing crunches, because he doesn't have the ability to sit up by himself yet. I think it might be time to start looking at high chairs. Sometimes when he's fussy in the evenings, the best way to settle him is to sit him on mom or dad's lap, legs on our legs, propped up against a chest. He just likes sitting and looking around at the room.
For my part, the decrease in his eating has caused the reappearance of my monthly cycle. Hello, I didn't really miss you. :P Oh, well. Had to happen sooner or later.
Fall arrived all of a sudden a couple weeks ago. It was summer, it was hot, then we got a week and a half of rain and it was jacket weather. So, the werecub has been wearing onesies and pants during the day and footie pajamas or baby gowns at night. He looks adorable in footie pajamas. He looks kinda shapeless in baby gowns. (The "Sweet Pea" look, if you're not sure what I'm talking about.)
We're planning on weighing him a bit more often. Sadly, the only scale in the house is the Wii Fit board, so using it takes more effort than just getting on it and looking at the numbers.
