The neglected front "lawn" is full of wild strawberries, wildflowers, and several tall thistles. We were going to take out the thistles and mow the mess down, but it would be a real shame. The thistles are starting to bloom. I stepped towards the first one to look at those purple spikey petals, and I startled a rabbit.

I wish there was a good way to "convert" this patch into something with less grass without mowing or disturbing too many of the flowers that have volunteered to take over. Even the bumblebee hovering over the newly blooming thistle is a welcome sight.

Get yourself a little fence to put around it and get a sign saying,"Nature Preserve, do not mow." :)
