Lasagna experiment

So, we made lasagna today, using the old family recipe from my mom, except I tried using ricotta cheese instead of cottage cheese.
It was good, but not quite as good. Still lasagna, the king of casseroles, but it was missing just that extra bit of stick-to-your-ribs heartiness. Next time, back to the cottage cheese.

Date: 2010-05-05 04:37 am (UTC)Personally, I think a super-thick sauce makes the difference. I make my own with tomato paste, which makes it very, very thick.
