Regarding the constitutionality, it's very simple. If Congress is capable of passing a law requiring everybody in the country to buy health insurance, then Congress is also capable of passing a law requiring everybody in the country to buy a vehicle from GM/Chrysler next year. How much power do you really want to give the government to determine your purchases?
