Ugh, that is nasty.

But I can understand the authorities' reaction to some extent. If you rushed into a building fire without the proper training or tools, you could easily end up injured or dead yourself. Wanting to help others in trouble is a fine and noble sentiment, but make sure you know what you're doing or you could make things worse.

"The senior officer in charge is confident we handled this incident as professionally as possible. In a situation like that you could end up with more deceased bodies than you had in the first place."

BullshitbullshitBULLSHIT. There is nothing professional about allowing someone to just roast to death and stopping people from doing what we instinctively know is right.

Sure, yes, the people wanting to help could have died. They knew that already. They were willing to take that risk for the sake of saving lives. Or did it just never occur to these dumbasses that they could end up with fewer bodies than they did?

Ugh...thank you, God, for talking me out of that insane notion I had a few years ago of bailing from the US and moving over there just because of a few dumb things here and there. :[

In closing, forget "God Save the Queen." Those folks need "God Help Us All."
