Political foo: poll questions

I was lucky enough (in a sense) to end up on the Gallup Poll call list. This time around, they asked a bunch of questions directly comparing McCain to Obama.
For all that I started out saying I'd probably vote for McCain but might change my mind before election day rolls around, I realized that in practically every question they asked, I answered that I preferred McCain over Obama. I just don't like either all that much. I like Palin, but enthusiasm for the VP pick can only take you so far when it comes to sizing up the actual candidate.
So, I'll probably pull the lever for McCain, but he's not really impressed me. I expect we'll muddle through, coming out the other side moderately better off than if we'd voted in Obama, but not really having improved much in those areas that I feel really need work.
Depressing, no?
