Which leads to other people misquoting her, based on what that story said.
And people depend on these outlets to form their impressions of candidates. Bad enough to leave out a sentence or two of context, but to chop a sentence in half? Did the journalists who wrote that down fail grammar and reading comprehension? Did the editors who chopped it up not know where a sentence begins and ends?
Or, maybe, they did it on purpose, just to get headlines? Or, worse, to influence public opinion?
No matter the reason - incompetence, greed, or partisanship - they don't deserve their jobs as reporters. Any of those reasons would be sufficient to justify throwing them out on the street.
