Original 5 questions meme post here. Feel free to ask for questions if you like.
1. How do you spend your time while
anher is gone to work?
Well, I get up in the morning, read my comics and livejournal, then spend most of the day cutting between doing short stints of work around the house and messing around on the computer. I've been debating starting up Flylady again now that I have time again, but I haven't gotten around to it. I should also get out more, for walks or something.
2. Have you sewn anything since you did the cloak and if so, what?
Unfortunately, no. The sewing room became inhabited by a pair of chairs shortly after I finished, and it is now too crowded to work in there.
3. What is your favorite cooking experiment?
Our Mexican stir-fry, aka fajitas. We don't make them the 'right' way, but we enjoy the way we make 'em. In fact, today we tried a variation, with chicken marinated in lime juice and gin, cooked with salt and parsley and bell peppers and some green onion. It was tasty. It's one of the better ways we've found to get large amounts of vitamins in our diet, too.
4. What was your greatest back packing trip and what was your worst and why?
I think the best was the trip in 1997 to Philmont. It was our first trip as a crew, and we were all learning together. I got to be in charge, and I enjoyed it. It was great weather, and even the hailstorm is more a great story to tell than a serious dampener. It was the first time I'd gone up Baldy, and there's just something about making snowmen on the first day of summer.
My worst would be the one the year before, as part of a Mountain Trek in Philmont. I didn't know anybody, it was a big crew so I got lost in the shuffle and left out of things. It rained all the time, which also made it cold every morning and tough to get moving. I still enjoyed myself when I was hiking and looking at the scenery, but I spent an awful lot of time feeling lonely in the crowd.
5. Do you have depression now and how do you cope?
I still do get depressed. I mostly cope with lights and by setting aside an extra hour for sleep when I need to set a time to get up. I've been trying to get into an exercise routine, so I'd feel better generally, but that hasn't taken yet. I had a few really bad days and some lousy weeks, but none of it was nearly as bad as back in college.
anher and I have also both concentrated on planning out food and eating healthier, so that I won't end up compounding the problem with poor nutrition.
