Tonight's dish is chef salad! This is the chef salad my mom taught me to make.

Ingredients:
1 small head of lettuce
Several carrots
Tomatoes
4 or 5 eggs, hardboiled
2 packets of deli meat, ham
2 packets of deli meat, turkey
shredded cheese

Shred the lettuce into a large bowl. Peel and cut carrots into slices, add on top. Cut tomatoes to a good size for eating (personal preference, here). Add. Cut eggs into slices, add. Cut meats into small squares, add on top. Sprinkle cheese on top. Serve. Favorite dressing completely optional.

Also among the "this is not a side dish" salads is the taco salad. This is how I make taco salads.

Ingredients:
1 small head of lettuce
Tomatoes
1 lb beef
1 packet taco seasoning
1 can dark kidney beans
shredded cheese

Shred or chop the lettuce and place in a large bowl. Cut tomatoes to size, add. Brown beef and cook with taco seasoning according to directions on packet. Add on top. Drain kidney beans, rinse, and add on top of beef. Top with cheese and serve. Exact order isn't really important, so long as the lettuce is on bottom and the cheese is on top. Some people like Catalina dressing on this, but I can't imagine why.

Simple, pretty easy to make, and quite filling, the both of them.

Huh, looks like your taco is very similar to how I make it. But I also served it with Tortilla corn chips.

There are probably very good reasons why our taco salads are so similar. *innocent look*
