alpharaposa | Leaving today

We're headed to DC today so that we'll be within spitting distance of Washington Reagon tomorrow for our very early flight. It doesn't quite feel real. Some vacations I'm prepared for, mentally. Some, even if I pack and have everything else ready, I just blank out on until we're on the road. It feels more like having a routine doctor's appointment scheduled than something I would be looking forward to and excited about.

Maybe it's because I have no idea what we're going to do when we're there. If we were hiking, I could get excited about that. If we had some things planned out, I could get excited about them. Nothing's planned yet. We're just going to be there for a week.

Speaking of which, I might be out of touch that whole week. We're taking the laptop, but there's no guarantee that we'll have internets. And who knows? Maybe we'll find things to do, and be too happy doing them to pay attention to 1's and 0's for a while.

My iPod is loaded and charged. I need to pick out books for the airplane flights. It's going to be a long day tomorrow.
