Daffodills have been up in the back yard for a little over a week. Today, I saw big yellow blooms. One of the early signs of spring on the way.

Today, it's not warm, but it's not cold, either, so I've opened up the windows, turned off the heat (for a little while), and I'm airing out the house. The cats want to go out where all the fresh air is coming from. They complain a lot more when the windows are open and they can smell all the neat things out there we don't allow them to go visit personally.

Spring comes later in Indiana than it does here in Virginia. It's not spring yet, but February is almost over (at last!) and there are signs of its approach. One thing I retain from my time in Indiana is an ability to declare 55 degree weather "warm". At least, warm enough to walk around barefoot on the driveway when I take trash out.

Doing some cleaning. We're having folks over for gaming tonight, and it looks to be a large crowd, so I'm making sure the front room is ready for it. Kitty litter has been scooped, dishwasher has been filled and run, and things are getting shelved and organized.

It's chilly here, but seems positively warm compared with the last month. Winter came late, and she came ugly. But I can take out the trash in shirtsleeves this week.

Spring is building up in Indiana as well, though I haven't yet seen any flowers blooming. That may be due to a lack of planting where I've been staying, though.
