We're back! We're safe! The house is fine (and dry), the cats are fine (and dry).

The cats want lots of attention now, particularly Mordred. I believe Percivale is sulking somewhere.

The funeral service itself was good; very appropriate. It was good (and somewhat surprising) to see cousins and aunts and uncles and all the various related folks. One of my youngest cousins has a beard and a fiance. Another one has sprouted fiercely over the last four years. I did fairly well in guessing who was who, but still had to ask a couple times.

It was raining again as we got close to home. While there is no more flooding, the ground is simply sodden. No mowing for a little while, yet.

... home again, home again, jiggetty jig

So glad to hear that you are home safely. it must have been a trying trip. When we just drive 8 hours away, to Bradenton (which we will do this weekend) I feel that is enough.

Also glad for you that you were able to reaquaint with cousins and aunts and uncles - family is a priority - always. Nothing is quite the same as kin, no matter what.

Love,

Glad you're home and everything is dry. [Bad username or site: asl ninja @ livejournal.com] is a very wise person. We should look at every opportunity to get together with family. Your parents especially. You don't know how long you will have them with you, in spirit or physically.
