Got more stitching done. I am now to the point where I can't put off the dubious instructions anymore. I've read and reread them, and still can't figure it out.

In the hood instructions, it says to gather the neck part, then pin it to the rest and adjust the gather so that the small dots (marked with pins) match the shoulder seams, etc. Then to baste.

(15. With right sides together, pin hood to neck edge, matching centers back, placing small dot at shoulder seam, having front edges even. Pull up gathering stitches to fit. Baste.)

Then it has all the neck facing instructions, with pinning and stitching and turning it to the inside and stitching again. There is no further mention of the hood.

The only intruction after the ones I quoted here is a line that describes how to do all the hems. It says to do the bottom, and the front and hood openings.

I'm terribly confused. Is the hood supposed to be seperate? It is supposed to be attached, but in some way I've missed? I've visited www.simplicity.com and left a message in their 'Customer Service' section, but I don't know if I'll get a response by the time I want to sit down and sew tomorrow. And it'd be nice to finish this thing.
