I called for an appointment today and got scheduled for this evening (must've had a cancellation). So, we just got back.

I have a lower dosage of Welbutrin now. For the next few weeks, I'll take that, then, if it's doing okay, take it every other day and finally stop. After that, I can drop the birth control.

If I don't do well off the Welbutrin, I can talk with my doctor about it. She said that so far, nobody's had any real problems with taking it while pregnant, but it's better to be off it if possible. So, it's time to start being off it... if possible. She also sent me home with a 'pre-natal' multivitamin to start taking before we start trying, so my body's all ready.

Prayers!

I really hope everything goes well for you. My wife and I aren't quite ready for children yet, but when we're ready, we're going to have to deal with the issues of antidepressants and conception too, so we may very well ask for some tips and pointers.

You do realize that if your schedule works out, you would conceive in high summer and then be giving birth around February? Heavens to postpartum depression! Hormonal changes in pregnancy often keep you happified; if it were me, I'd go for conception in the fall, so you can float through the dark times on natural chemical elevation, and give birth as warm weather and longer days approach.

Anyway, hope it all works out for you.

Apparantly you can get the depressive swing at the beginning or at the end...

I'll definitely want to talk to mom and see what she remembers it being like for her.

Thanks for the notice. I'll have to think about it and try to remember how I felt.
