Friday and another Christmas Carol..
Dec. 14th, 2012 12:00 pmToday's carol is Lo, How a Rose E'Er Blooming (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Es_ist_ein_Ros_entsprungen). Note that the wikipedia article is for the original German lyrics. It provides an interesting glimpse at the differences in translations.
The four part score most often used for it is lovely. It's rare to come across a song where all four parts really matter to the harmony. (Listen here: http://youtu.be/g458-jXkbpU)
I seem to be getting more day-to-day housework done in this place. Maybe.. because it's not full of things yet? I dunno. The boxes are in the way and need to be fixed, but otherwise..
Side note: The University of Chicago get some really cool campus mail: http://uchicagoadmissions.tumblr.com/post/37809971913/indiana-jones-mystery-package-we-dont-really
