alpharaposa: (percivale)
Percivale decided he wanted to eat this morning, which cheered us up. Even better was coming home and finding him impatient to be fed. Normally, I find this annoying, but I'm just happy to have him getting closer to normal.

Talked to the vet today. Some of his liver indications from the blood work were very high - far above normal. So, I'm going to pick up some pills tomorrow morning for him to take for a while. An antibiotic and a liver medication. In a couple of weeks, he'll go back for another round of tests. Unfortunately, with cats, you can't really pinpoint exactly what's wrong even with blood work, so we'll have to hope that the pills work with him to get him to recover from whatever this is.

I gave him some more "tuna soup" when I got home, to tide him over until his normal feeding time and also trick him into drinking more water. Want to make sure he stays hydrated, and the extra calories don't hurt him. Percivale looks big, but he's half fur. He's actually a little too skinny these days.

Ten years old this year, so he's getting up there. I suppose it's not surprising that he'd occasionally have a problem.
