Why am I not camping?
Mar. 11th, 2010 05:36 pmWork beat me up today. I settled in with a stack of stuff, and kept getting interrupted. Phone calls, emails, things to do. Even though most of it was small, it just accumulated. (And a couple of items were real stinkers.)
It's hard to feel like I'm catching up on the backlog at all.
I walked outside and took a deep breath of damp spring air, and all I wanted was to be in a hammock under some trees.
Speaking of backlogs, I haven't forgotten about the four poems I have yet to do. I have twice sat down this week and stared at a piece of paper, trying to write things down. Poetry is not being easy for me right now for some reason. I will keep trying. Might work on the last poem first, since it's a lighter topic, to get things moving.
Meanwhile, my brain has been happy to spit out prose. I've been writing a story with Garanemu and Gyrth in the hopes that if I get all that out of my brain, it will be in a better shape to go back and finish up the poetry.
In better news, the insurance company declared that the accident was officially Not My Fault and the deductible was waived. I picked up my little Focus on Saturday and the only charge to come out of pocket was the price of gas for the rental. I'm so happy to have my uncomplicated little car back.
