So, I exercised again today.

I almost didn't. For some reason, my 2nd toe on my right foot has been hurting. It feels something like a light sprain, but there's only a small amount of swelling and no bruising. While at work today, I slipped my foot out of my dress shoe whenever I was sitting at my desk and let it rest on the nice, cool floor. It feels better than it did this morning, but it still pings me if I flex it the right (or wrong) way.

I decided to go ahead and exercise because it was feeling better, but also because the strength training doesn't have so much footwork in it. The only time I really put any extra weight on my right toes was during some lunges in warm up. In any case, I'm going to spend the rest of the night off my feet as much as possible. Let 'em rest.

Today is my fourth day of exercise. In the past, I haven't made it this far because of how badly my muscles ached. I would rest them "just for a day or two" until they stopped, and then I'd forget to exercise.

But this morning, nothing ached. I should have known. It's not like I don't have experience with this sort of thing. I always feel terrible the first two mornings of backpacking, but by the third, the aches go away. This happened every year I used to do track and cross country. By giving up on the first or second day because I hurt, I never got to the stage where it stops hurting.

Well, okay. If I meet my goal of exercising every day after work this week, I will give myself a sticker on my calendar. One more day to go! I can do this.
