These are from
xaq. Feel free to request questions from me.
-Probably the biggest bit of curiosity I ever have regarding dating/married friends: How'd you and
anher meet?
We met gaming. No, seriously. I was in my sophomore year at college and trying out the local gamer scene by going to one of the Adventurer Guild meetings, and spoke briefly to him then. The meeting didn't stick at that point.
Shortly afterward, a guy I'd met asked if I wanted to go see a movie "with a couple of friends", which turned out to be
anher and another person. We each thought the other was dating the person they were with, which was untrue. Then, we both ended up playing in a Mage game run by the guy who'd asked me (and whom I was dating by that point).
anher got into a relationship that was dying due to non-interest on the girl's part, and I broke up with the guy I was with. There was some awkward flirting while still trying to stick to 'the rules' of dating. Somehow, our characters always seemed to end up working together. Eventually, he asked me what the heck was going on and we kissed. He's the only guy I've known who actually noticed that I was interested in him without me outright telling him.
-And on that note... told me back when I first met him that one of the artists from Supermegatopia was the best man at your wedding. I'd always been a bit curious as to how he knew you.
We both met B through the Anime club. There was a small cadre of people who met in the student union and just hung out there by the club offices most of the day. B was one of those people. Every day he drew a little summary of things that happened in those day planners that BSU gave out. He did a little gaming, and we started hanging out at his brother's place for computer gaming or just to watch TV (anime, normally).
-You've obviously had some sweet cooking successes lately, but have you ever tried a recipe that, either through error or just an overwhelming YUCK factor, has been a flop (or even outright disaster?)
At least one beef stew was, well, edible, but kind of like eating wet cardboard.
-Just to fire one back at you: What was the first anime you ever saw, and which one would you say is your favorite?
Technically, the first would have been Voltron as a kid, but of the things that are less "re-interpreted", the first would have been Ghost in the Shell, followed by Cutey Honey videos
siege brought back from college. My favorite? Hmm. I think Record of Lodoss War is pretty high on the list. I watched the whole thing one day with friends.
-You find a $100 bill lying on the curb. Little tattered, little soggy, but still a hundred bucks regardless. What would you do with it?
I'd look around, ask if anybody dropped it. If nobody claimed it, I think I'd pick it up and pocket it. Later, I might remember about the '24 hour claim' thing and report it to the police.
