Vivid dream
Jul. 12th, 2012 07:53 amHad a dream last night, where I was writing a story about frog-people, and I was also one of them. (This is kinda normal for me. I often have dreams where I'm both somebody in the story and aware that I'm writing the story as it goes.)
It started out with some kind of game involving finding and collecting little gems in the dirt, and the frog-people were playing against some people who were from the surface (and thus, not as good at it). About halfway through the game, the rules were shifted a bit to make it more competitive. There was a fight at the end, and then everybody gathered around a throne for prizes.
(At that point, I "saw" part of the completed Word doc for the story, and pondered emailing it to
aldersprig, who I thought would like it.)
And then there was a bit with the frog-girl that was also my character, sitting by the throne while a storm was overhead. I would peek above the waves and look at the clouds, then duck back under to the whole scene with the frog people all sitting around the throne. I remember that, above the water, the edges of the storm clouds looked like a cut out of fairy castles, all gray and black and sharp-edged.
