You give me fever..
Dec. 19th, 2010 07:45 amWell, the cub got three shots and an oral yesterday. With all that, he had kind of a rough night. The vaccines and the bug from
anher combined to give him a mild fever. He woke up several times, and at one point he felt hot enough that
anher got a damp washcloth and I patted his head to cool him down a little.
We picked up a new thermometer yesterday, too; one of those touch-to-forehead types. I used that last night to check the werecub's temperature. It peaked at 99.7. Down to normal this morning, though, so we're through the worst of it.
I didn't ask what percentile he's in, these days, but the cub came in at 18 lbs, 7 oz and 27 inches from head to toe. Today, we'll attempt to feed him a little baby oatmeal, his first solid food. (The doctor recommended oatmeal over rice cereal as it's less constipating and the cub doesn't seem to be allergic to anything yet.)
A week of oatmeal to learn solids, and then I'll buy some squash to make some homemade baby food. I couldn't find anymore butternut squash yesterday, sadly.
