I just got one of those automated phone surveys where you answer a few questions about your political views, and then you get a pre-recorded pitch from somebody running for office.
On every one of these calls, when I answer the magic question, I hear, "I agree with you... ".
Does anybody ever get a call where the automatic voice doesn't agree with you? Maybe it says, "Thank you, but I believe that we need to do X." Or are they set up as a false choice, so eventually you'll get a question that leads into their pre-recorded spiel?
I'm just feeling a bit cynical about the whole thing. If I'd said no to their statement, would I have received an entirely different message prefaced with "I agree with you"? Would the recording have talked about how this guy believes exactly what I said I believed? Are there two recordings, one for yes and one for no?
