Life in the military

anher and I were headed out to get a bite to eat and relax a bit. As we were getting into the truck, I commented on how long it's been since the last time we really had a date.

Just as we pulled into the parking lot of The Green Oak, his phone rings.

The folks back at the base can't find the guy who's supposed to be on watch next. Since anher is on duty today, he's nominated to fill the position.

So, pull back out of the parking lot, drive home. He grabs some stuff and heads out the door.

Ah, well. Things like this happen, sometimes. We'll save the date for tomorrow or Tuesday.
