The link says it - 11 year old boy taken away in handcuffs for drawing stick figures in class.

Episodes like this are cruel to the kids and their parents, and create distrust of police and teachers.

The idiot persuaded to press charges and the idiot who called and persuaded them should both be fired.

Don't forget the part where the kid's therapist encouraged him to draw things when he got upset, instead of disrupting the class (as a part of ADD treatment). I'm not sure if they quite meant for him to draw "stick figures of himself with a gun, pointed at four other stick figures with the words 'teachers must die.'" (from the article), but it really sounds like folks overreacted here.

Of course, part of the problem is that our society seems to have a penchant for holding teachers to blame if somebody actually did do something like that for real.

Can we all agree that it's up to the parents to handle things like this? And more importantly, if something does go wrong, put the blame on their shoulders? As opposed to other, more "soft" targets, like video games, movies, TV, teachers, or anything other than the people who are supposed to be raising the children?
