social foo: pornography addictions

I have a bit of a grumble over the call for more government action at the end of this article.. but the point about the seriousness of porn use is the more important part. It frustrates me how many people think - and teach - that porn is normal and healthy.

No one of the founding generation would have dreamed that pornography would be protected speech, and the obvious social detriment and non-success of un-coercive means of stopping its effect would mean that government action would be the only effective way to protect society from its corrosive effects.

I think it was the call for government studies that hit my 'ick' button. Expecting the government to Do Something, but to do something that useless?
