There's a reason most of the really large unions have bad reps

SEIU considers filing a grievance because an Eagle Scout performs volunteer labor on city property:

Note that they'll "probably" "let this one go". As in, they'll be nice and not hold the city over a fire and sue a local Scout troop. But they could. And they would, if things got bad enough. They still might. They're thinking it over. They already gave the city a break once, after all.

Reminds me of Kathleen griping that volunteers helping people with literacy were taking the jobs of qualified English teachers. To which I thought about replying, even if we forbade volunteering and kept a job for you to teach literacy, you'd still have to show up and actually, you know, work in order to get paid. And since that wasn't going to happen, why kill off volunteering? But I let it go. She wouldn't have been able to understand it. People with grievances find their grievances more precious than their joys.
