Two men, a Mr B and a Mr G.

Mr G: I hear ya got into some trouble and need money, Mr B.

Mr B: I do, Mr G. I made some bad bets, and now I owe.

Mr G: Tell ya what, Mr B. I'll give you the money. No, don't worry about it. Just pay me back sometime, y'hear? It's the least I could do for a friend.

Several months later...

Mr G: Hey, Mr B, what's this I hear about you given my money to some other guys? The Mob found out, and now they're breathin down my neck.

Mr B: But I had to, Mr G. I made promises. I gotta keep 'em.

Mr G: That won't satisfy the Mob. They want blood. If you give out that money, well, I can't protect you from Them.

Mr B: But I already gave out the money!

Mr G: That wasn't smart, Mr B. Not smart at all. Now I gotta hunt down all your friends that took that money and give 'em to the Mob.

Mr B: But you gave me the money in the first place! You said all I had to do was pay you back someday!

Mr G: Ya, well life's tough. The Mob wants somebody to be the fall guy, and it sure isn't gonna be me.
